Bedskirt Series: Live like a queen with Sultan’s Palace

Saffron Marigold - Updated: July 3, 2014

Oh to be a queen for a day…! Haven’t we all wished that at some time or another? Well, wish no more, because now you can be like royalty, with Saffron Marigold’s stunning Sultan’s Palace collection of bed linens. The luscious Moroccan inspired duvet in exotic shades of ivory, fuchsia, ochre and turquoise will really add some ethnic flair and romance to your bedroom, and transport you far far away to a land of kings and queens.  Lay down on the bed, close your eyes and you will almost hear the dancing girls….I guarantee it.

Sultan’s Palace Queen Duvet cover from Saffron Marigold

Like all their duvets, this one is reversible, with the medallion pattern on one side and a coordinating print on the other. If you’re feeling dramatic – and we all do from time to time 🙂 – then the deep royal blue background will really add to the drama. If you’re feeling mellow and calm, then a flick of the wrist and you can reverse the print to the serene soothing cream background and play it up with other accessories in the room.

All you need to complete that perfectly accessorized look for your bed is a bedskirt to go with this duvet. Whether you’re going for the fitted or feminine look, a neutral colored one in ivory, white or ochre will be the best match for it.

1. Ivory bedskirt: This ivory one from  Kohls is feminine and pretty, a perfect partner for the luscious print.

2. White bedskirtGarnet Hill has this which is a perfect compromise. Its form is tailored, but the lacy edges give it a soft and delicate look

3. Ochre/white box spring cover: If your main intention is to hide the box spring, and keep all focus on the duvet, you can always go the route of a box spring cover from West Elm or Pottery Barn

4. Royal blue bedskirt: And last, but not least, if you want to “kick it up a notch” as Emeril would say, go with a deep blue bedskirt, but like all colored bedskirts, it has to be a perfect match, so it is best to get a swatch and confirm that.

So the possibilities are endless….it all depends on your personal taste and style, but a neutral bed skirt will really accentuate the striking colors of the Sultan’s Palace Bedding. Our next post in the series will help you find a ochre, green or white bedskirt for your Dance O Peacock duvet.
