Last week, Kamini introduced us to some great ideas for using our newest print, Dance O Peacock, in the bedroom. Today, I’ll show you ideas for creating an entire Living Room decor around these flexible ivory, cobalt, ochre and sage linens.
Dance O Peacock provides elegant accents and inspiration enough to anchor an entire room. Consider adding a few throw pillows to your existing furniture to easily create a new look. The larger Euro Shams add a bit of eastern flair (not to mention extra seating) when placed on the floor. Because of the scale, sheer curtain panels make a big statement in a room and could completely turn a neutral space around.
Stark and modern or warm and colorful, the simple graphic quality of each of these area rugs makes them work with the colors and style of our Dance O Peacock prints.
One thing I love about our inspiration print is that it is elegant and fancy, yet crisp and clean. This allows you to go in so many design directions. The lighting we’re looking at demonstrates that. You can move toward an ethnic/traditional blend, as in the Amelia lamp from World Market, or to a modern clean look reflected in the lamps from Ikea and Stray Dog Designs.
Colorful, streamlined furniture will truly thrive in a room anchored around Dance O Peacock. These sophisticated, retro pieces reflect the tones in our peacock print, and make great bases for accent pillows or accessories.
I just love these accessories. All are colorful, yet organic and provide great texture and contrast for the living room scheme. The beauty of the turquoise vase is that you can make it chic and sophisticated with pale white lilies, or bring it to life with any number or boldly colored flowers. (Marigolds, anyone?)
Top off your space with one of these ideas for wall art in your living room. Any gold sunburst style piece, similar to this Gold Raindrops Mirror, adds a subtle glimmer that seems to reference the peacock’s plumage. Peacock Fantasia, a print available through Fine Art America, would be fabulous matted in white and framed in gold.
