Fall series – Red Poppy curtains to suit your decorating style

by Kamini on Sep 4, 12

Mughal red poppy motifs on a rich gold ground, textured delicately with a delicate floral latticework, that’s the simple classic elegance of our Red Poppy! Not a print to scream out, nor hide in obscurity, Red Poppy is soft and elegant, showing off its gentle quiet beauty in pretty colors of tan and honey amidst red blossoms.

Depending on your decor style, the colors you want to work with and the mood you’re trying to achieve, you have three options on how to use the curtains to your (and its) best advantage. Whichever color you choose to highlight in the print – the deep gold, the neutral tan or the eye catching red, accessorizing is key.

Option 1 – an elegant gold themed Red Poppy Collection

Nothing is easier or more effective than paint. Its an inexpensive way to completely change the look of a room. Sherwin William’s “Humble Gold” color really accentuates the deep gold latticework and will set the stage for an elegant room. Keep the accessories within the same golden hue – like the candles or the flouncy pillow – but breaking up the monochromatic scheme with little dabs of red here and there will be super effective! Bronze accents in the mirror and lamp base will add to the rich look.

Option 2 – an eclectic neutral Red Poppy Collection

Gold not your color? Then play up the neutral tan background. Again, the paint color shown below will deepen the wall color ever so slightly, but remain well within the neutral family. A red felt roses pillow, floral art tiles and bamboo vases with varying shades of red will break up the boredom of an “all tan space”. A snuggly alpaca throw, some beautiful lamps with scrolled iron bases and a lovely wooden mirror all introduce warm tones.

Option 3 – a dramatic globally inspired Red Poppy Collection

And then if you really like to color things up, then this is your style…..global and exotic. Start off by painting a wall (or more than one) this dramatic shade of copper red. Why stop there? Add warm wooden accessories with a global flair to them like the dark wooden Parat mirrors, the wooden vases and the storage basket. Bring in more red via the lamp, the rich red throw and the gorgeous wall art.
