Bedskirts series: Pink, cream and purple India Rose

by Priya on Jan 25, 11

Pink is in the news! To be exact, Honeysuckle, a reddish pink color which has been declared the 2011 color of the year by the Pantone Color Institute. They called it “a brave new color, for a brave new world.” (source: New York Daily News). I have already been noticing a partiality towards the color pink in many shelter magazines and interior design blogs. Which brings us to the lovely India Rose.

India Rose from Saffron Marigold

The pink, cream and purple India Rose by Saffron Marigold oozes romance with its “vanilla-hued” flowers and trellis pattern against a rose background. It is perfect for adding feminine grace and style to any bedroom. The duvet covers sport a coordinated pattern on the reverse side giving you double the value for your money.

So what colors will work with your Saffron Marigold India Rose bed linen? Try pink, purple, neutrals or white.

1. Pink bed skirts: A great pink would be that offered by Rachel Ashwell’s Simply Shabby Chic Bedding Collection. Pale and not too bright, it would be lovely in a young girl’s bedroom.

2. PurpleĀ bedskirts: This purple bedskirt from Target will highlight the purple stems of the pattern on either side of the duvet, and add a dramatic element to the bedroom. Its tailored style will complement the paisley border while accentuating the geometric inner print.

3. Cream, neutral or white bedskirts: As with all the vibrant and patterned Saffron Marigold bed linen, neutral colors like cream or white look wonderful with the India Rose and bring balance to the intricate prints and rich color. My favorite neutral bedskirts include Ralph Lauren Home’s Whitehall Floral Bed Skirt, the Punchboard Eyelet Lace bedskirt from Townhouse linens, and the Pleated Button bedskirt from Pottery Barn in Natural Linen.
