Can I put a runner on a round table?<\/h2>\n

Many of our customers want to know if this style of table linen will work on a round table. In case you were wondering, the answer is yes<\/em>, you can absolutely use a runner on a round table. (And no, <\/em>the runner itself won’t be round!) You’ll still use a narrow, long table runner on a round table. The same runners we use on rectangle or square tables are the same kind you’ll use on your round (or oval) table.<\/p>\n\"white<\/a>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n

You can lay the runner down the center of the table, or you can make letter “t” or criss-cross “X” pattern to eliminate the need for placemats.<\/p>\n

How long should a table runner be for a round table?<\/h2>\n

Look for runners that are approximately 12 inches longer than your table if you want it to hang about 6 inches over each edge. Should a table runner be longer than the table? Absolutely! A too-short runner doesn’t run–<\/em>it simply looks like it ran out of fabric! Of course, there aren’t any hard-and-fast rules here, but longer is better than shorter.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n\n

Each of our fair-trade table linens is handmade, easy to launder, and printed on pre-shrunk, superior-grade cotton. If your round table comes with leaves, you’ll want to consider the full size of the table with all leaves inserted to ensure the right size table linens. Can I use a table runner with a tablecloth?<\/h2>\n

It all depends on the level of formality and on your preferences.\u00a0 If this is the look you love, then go for it! Just make sure that the runner isn’t longer than your tablecloth<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\"\"<\/a>\n

To make your runner the star of the show, place a patterned runner over a solid tablecloth. Setting your table with two different table linens creates visual interest and elevates the dining atmosphere–a great special occasion look.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
