Announcing Fete Royale: Our Holiday-Only Christmas Tablecloth Special

Saffron Marigold - Updated: November 25, 2019

Dear Friend of Saffron Marigold,

This is Anisha, designer/owner here at Saffron Marigold. This holiday season, we wanted to offer you a Christmas tablecloth, something unique and special, and we’re excited to tell you that it’s here!! A limited edition holiday collection, Fete Royale is a fun, whimsical, nostalgic print filled with a sense of joie de vivre and a spirit of folklore that’s perfect as a Christmas tablecloth (or for use all winter!).

Thank you to all who participated and provided feedback on this print in last month’s survey. I am truly grateful for our wonderful, generous, caring community of customers. Interestingly, the survey results were polarized, clearly dividing those that loved the print and those who didn’t –there weren’t too many on the fence with this one.

Fortunately, a significant number of you loved the design of this Christmas tablecloth enough to give us the confidence to move forward with launching it, so here it is!

There’s nothing that quite matches the joy of putting a creation out there and having customers appreciate and ‘get’ what it is you’re trying to offer. To that end, I’d like to share a few comments that made me do a happy jig around my office!

I think your design is very well thought out. I can tell you put a lot of thought and effort creating it. The balance of colors and patterns is really quite perfect. It can span many different decors: French country, farmhouse, Scandinavian. I’m genuinely impressed.

I love this print. It combines more traditional Nordic patterns with a modern flair. It’s geometric rather than floral. The colorways of red and black on a natural background with no green give this a sophisticated look.

I love this. It is so unlike most holiday designs, and I actually think it would not be overwhelming even in January and February! Although I am trying to rid myself of most of my holiday decorations, this would be a welcome addition.

I wanted Fete Royal to be reminiscent of plaid but a lot looser and more playful. The print features a rich patchwork of ivory and red polka dots mixed with a jamboree of other festive elements.

The principal design element, of course, is the polka dots. Why polka dots, you might ask? Well, because polka dots are just about the most joyful pattern out there: cheerful, nostalgic, always in vogue. You simply can’t take yourself too seriously in the presence of polka dots!

Even though this is a great Christmas tablecloth, I didn’t want the print to be too holiday-specific, so I intentionally left out the snowmen, snowflakes and gingerbread men! Instead, we have a liberal sprinkling of festivity with chevrons, stars, and foliage. (I also love that the rich patchwork of patterns nods to the folkloric tradition of quilting that is as old as the country itself.) With that lush patchwork of patterns, the print will be very forgiving to the inevitable spills of exuberant holiday feasting and entertaining.

So, welcome Fete Royale into your home for the holidays and keep your dining table the center of all winter holiday celebrations!

If you love it as much as we do, we urge you to pre-order. After we run out of the current limited stock, all items will be made to order. Order this Christmas tablecloth early so we can get these to you asap.

Thank you.
Sincerely, Anisha
