As soon as we started this Summer series I knew it would be incomplete without Saffron Marigold’s quintessential summer fabric….Lavender Dreams. It is light, airy, breezy and cool.
Graceful lavender motifs in lilac, amethyst and deep green, set against a creamy white background, nostalgic of the perfumed lavender fields in France…….customers have called it “beautiful”, “delicate”, and “exquisite”.
Bath linens: Towels and mats
Thick fluffy absorbent towels….the ultimate luxury in the bathroom! If you like linen, then the lilac and cream peshtemal Turkish towels are what you need. Produced in hand-woven looms they are readily available on Etsy. Classic white towels are versatile, and Garnet Hill makes these deliciously absorbent ones. If like me you cannot get enough of the lavender color, then these equally lovely ones from Kohls will work just beautifully.
This vetiver bath mat from Gaiam reflects the organic global vibe of the shower curtain. For a more sensuous tactile touch, try the incredibly soft capri rug in white.
Window Curtains and Wall Decor
Just the shower curtain alone will bring a touch of the French Provence into your bathroom, but if you have windows in the bathroom, they would look lovely dressed with curtains or valances from the same collection, or pick from our lovely whites – Ivy Lace or Tulip Mist.
Accessories and Scents
Now we need a way to display the gorgeous towels. Any one of these stunning towel racks from Gaiam will do perfectly I think. Hand forged in wrought iron and blended with acacia wood they are sculptural masterpieces of craftsmanship.
And then for a final sensory overload that you may never want to come out of, fill these West Elm glass jars with handmade soaps from Etsy and place them on your bathroom shelf along with these heavenly lotions and potions from Loccitane.
The pièce de résistance, if I can call it that, would be this dried bunch of lavender from Etsy again. Hang it up near your shower, and inhale that exquisite fragrance that only lavender will give you. Alternately, if you are lucky enough to be able to get some fresh lavender, here are instructions on how to make your own dried lavender bouquet!
A feast for the senses…..
