Today, we’ll take a look at Breakfast in Bed for Mom. Of course, any great breakfast in bed should start with an exceptional bed! We think our Paisley Fraiche print in a duvet cover or bedspread is just perfect for any mom who’s ready for the colors of spring. The pale greens, creamy ground and lilac accents lend themselves to anything from cottage chic to a crisp preppy decor.
I’m loving this simple DIY breakfast tray, put together with a picture frame, attached handles and something sentimental or beautiful tucked inside. This example shows a retro dishcloth used as a fabric insert. I could also see a collection of favorite photos of you and Mom, or perhaps a descriptive list of what makes Mom uniquely wonderful. Find a tutorial for this cute tray here.
Of course, we need something perfectly yummy to put on our breakfast tray! I’ll suggest these amazing little Lemon Glazed Blueberry Scones. I am a HUGE fan of scones – good ones, that is… buttery, flaky, and wonderfully sweet – tart with fruit. This is a simple recipe that beginners can master. Mom (and anyone else who comes in range of these scones) will be so glad you gave them a try!
Finally, an idea that’s an oldie, but a goodie for Mother’s Day… The handmade coupon. These sweet cards are made by Elle’s Studio, but the idea translates well on your own handmade card, a note written on special paper or – for that matter – any paper! (If one of my kids is willing to do the dishes for me, I have no requirements for how professionally the coupon is written!
)
Here are a few more offerings from Saffron Marigold in our Paisley Fraiche print. From left to right, you can see a swatch of our fabric (available for $7.99 each), our shower curtain, euro sham and cushion cover. Any of these beautiful hand printed Indian textiles will brighten up a room, and Mom’s face!
I hope you’ve found some inspiring ideas for Mother’s Day this week. All week we’ll continuing our series with ideas for a fantastic Mother’s Day. See the entire line-up here.
