I am not much for Halloween decorations though the colors of fall are my all-time favorites- reds, oranges, browns and greens. So when I had to put together an impromptu garden party, those are the colors I chose. I lugged the heavy wooden table outside- I have found that a woman on a decorating mission can move mountains! I got out my Kilim Noir black and gold table linen and dressed the table with it.
Remember I said this was impromptu- I didn’t have a Kilim Noir tablecloth, so I used the queen bed linen. The ochre motifs of the Kilim Noir are perfect for creating a fall tablescape.
I added pretty lanterns to create an intimate mood…!
I decided to pair the rustic lanterns with shiny silver- a silvery glass vase for the flowers from the farmer’s market. The brightly colored flowers also contrasted with the dark Kilim Noir and picked up the brown-gold of the motifs.

The table is set!
Do remember that Kilim Noir napkins are also available and used along with this gilt bowl from Gumps will add a real festive outdoor sparkle,
Since the party was to take place late afternoon, I picked a variety of breads from the market- Banana nut, Pumpkin Spice and my favorite, Dutch Chocolate Zucchini bread. Add heavenly cups of masala chai and I was ready!
For those who don’t like chocolate (and believe me, there are people like that), these delicious pumpkin cupcakes will satisfy any craving. I mean, who doesn’t like anything pumpkin???? Find the recipe here.
If Kilim Noir is the perfect fall print for you, be sure to check out the entire collection.

Fabulous!! Makes me want to have a party right now. I enjoy the way you built it up, adding one thing and another until it’s Party Time. Very festive.
